Eddi Reader
Eddi Reader has been on the Cambridge Stages a number of times over the years, but this is her first visit since 2006. The thing I really like about Eddi, apart from her incredible voice, is that she is totally unpredictable.
Unlike some artists that will focus on their most recent album, Eddi, at Cambridge at least, seems to give herself full expression over her songs, which must be a bit of a bind for her band, well apart from the fact that she surrounds herself with great musicians and writers.
Eddi's latest album has already attracted the epitaph, stunning, as close you can get to a review in a single word, it's a word that can be applied to her live work. She's got a huge songbook to draw on and that's what makes her such an exciting artist live.
I'm sure tracks from "Love Is The Way" will get an outing, it's what songs join them and who joins Eddi on the stage.
